My role
I contribute to planning a condensation test-section redesign in the Kharangate group. I directed the scope of AI-assisted CAD candidate work; Codex operated the native SolidWorks tools during that work.
Engineering problem
The design effort considers how optical access and viewing geometry could better support imaging and future particle image velocimetry. The measurement need has to be reconciled with the surrounding hardware and review requirements.
Design approach
The work is organized around defining the viewing need, identifying interfaces and constraints, preparing draft candidates, and checking them before a design is accepted. Public descriptions stay at this methods level while the laboratory CAD is held for review.
What is supported
The current evidence supports design planning and candidate development. It does not establish a manufactured test section, measured optical improvement, PIV qualification, or physical validation.
Current status and next step
Design work remains in progress. Candidate selection and remaining engineering checks require laboratory review. Approved CAD views can be added after the laboratory clears the specific material for sharing.
